Dewsbury Christmas Lights 2019 launched itself into the public consciousness this week with the task of raising more than £10,000 by crowdfunding s in the next 48 days!
Despite this slight financial obstacle The Dewsbury Partnership are determined to deliver a traditional entertainment packed event after taking responsibility for the event this year.
Entertainment
A big contribution of traditional songs from local schools will be mixed with English, Indian and Pakistani vocal artists and musicians - together with some distinctly non-traditional twists on Christmas.
Add to that there will be displays by local youth and community groups showcasing their talents.
Community Market
The Community Market in Market Place will combine a craft fair where you can pick up some unique hand made products with an opportunity for local groups to show the services they provide in the community.
Free Parking In Dewsbury All Day!
Free parking all day will turn Dewsbury Christmas Lights into a worry free day out. With the traditional market taking place all day, the Community Market and entertainment in the afternoon and the Lantern Parade and Lights Switch On at 6 pm there's lots of opportunity for a leisurely day out and some Christmas shopping.
Especially as there is no risk of a parking ticket with Kirklees providing FREE PARKING ALL DAY in Cliffe Street car park!
